"I used to think that in the night, little snow fairies would fly across the land and throw glitter on the white blanket of snow that clung to the ground and the roofs and the trees. What else would explain the way the snow sparkled in the light? The stillness that followed a snowfall was one I waited for, a deep exhale from a world that always makes a little noise. While the image of a sparkling, glittering snowscape is a magic I will always strive to capture, the view for this month's painting is a place I turn to when I seek that stillness. The silence of a day rising, as it lights the treeline on fire and bathes a white ground in shadows of blues and purples. Crystal Moon isn’t only about the sparkle of something new, it is also about the beauty in the quiet of change."
